What to Expect
on Installation Day

We know that letting a tradesperson into your home can be disruptive — that’s why PCA makes the process fast, respectful, and easy to follow. Here’s what you can expect from the moment you book with us.

What to Expect

PCA installs or upgrades your smoke alarm system with minimal disruption and maximum peace of mind.

We give your peace of mind that your property meets all legal requirements and is market-ready.

  • You’ll receive a booking confirmation and reminder
  • Our installer will arrive within the scheduled time window
  • We’ll bring all required alarms and equipment with us
  • You don’t need to prepare anything other than access to each bedroom and hallway
  • Our licensed technician will assess the property layout
  • Alarms will be installed in all required locations:
    • Each bedroom
    • Hallways outside bedrooms
    • On every storey of the home
  • Installation usually takes 1–2 hours, depending on the size of your home.
  • We’ll clean up after ourselves and walk you through how your new system works.
  • You’ll receive a Certificate of Compliance as part of your service.

Compliance Documentation

  • Once installation is complete, you’ll receive:
    • A Certificate of Compliance outlining alarm locations, expiry dates, and standards met.
    • Optional Photographic Compliance Certificate (required for sales documentation) – available for $139

All alarms installed meet AS3786:2014 standards and are suitable for legal sale, rental, or owner-occupier compliance in Queensland and other relevant states.

All smoke alarms we install come with:

  • 10-year manufacturer warranty (on lithium battery or hardwired units)
  • Certificate of compliance valid at the time of inspection
  • Ongoing service and support should issues arise within the warranty period

We only use trusted, certified brands and comply with all Australian Standards for residential smoke alarm systems.
